Rokosz
Rokosz was the legally recognised right of the Polish nobility to form a confederation in armed rebellion against a king believed to have violated his obligations. It was grounded in the conditions the nobility imposed on elected monarchs, including the Henrician Articles of 1573. Accounts of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth present rokosz as one of the constitutional limits on royal power that characterised the Commonwealth's noble democracy.
