Sadras

Also known as Sadurangapattinam

Sadras, now Sadurangapattinam, is a coastal village south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. In the 17th century the Dutch East India Company built a fortified trading post there to buy cotton textiles woven in the area. The remains of the Dutch fort, with its warehouses and cemetery, are a protected monument.
