Skrunda-1
Skrunda-1 was a Soviet early-warning radar station near Skrunda in western Latvia, built from the 1960s with Dnepr radars to detect ballistic missiles approaching from the west. After Latvian independence Russia was allowed to keep operating it for four years under an agreement of 1994, while the unfinished building of a newer Daryal radar was demolished in 1995. The station closed in 1998 and the last Russian personnel left in 1999.
