Sushruta Samhita
The Sushruta Samhita is an ancient Sanskrit treatise on medicine and surgery attributed to Sushruta, one of the foundational texts of Ayurveda. Compiled over several centuries and probably reaching its surviving form in the early centuries CE, it describes many surgical instruments and procedures, including reconstruction of the nose and couching for cataract, alongside material on anatomy, diseases and medicinal plants.
