The Thatbyinnyu Temple is the tallest temple of Pagan (Bagan) in central Myanmar, rising about 61 metres. It was built in the mid-twelfth century under King Alaungsithu and marks the transition to a taller, two-storeyed style of temple with its main shrine on the upper floor. Its name refers to the omniscience of the Buddha.
