The Beatles

1960–1970 · 20th century

The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960, with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and, from 1962, Ringo Starr. Their records and the Beatlemania of the mid-1960s made them the best-selling musical act in history and a symbol of Britain's cultural influence worldwide before they split in 1970.
