Tô Lâm
Tô Lâm is a Vietnamese politician and career police officer who became general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam in August 2024, after the death of Nguyen Phu Trong. As minister of public security from 2016 to 2024 he directed much of the party's anti-corruption campaign, and he briefly served as state president in 2024 before taking the party leadership.
