Tokugawa Muneharu
Tokugawa Muneharu (1696–1764) was the seventh lord of the Owari domain from 1730. In open defiance of the austerity reforms of the shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune, he encouraged spending, theatre and pleasure quarters in Nagoya, which made the city flourish. Yoshimune forced him into retirement and confinement in 1739.
