Theatre
Theatre is the performance of drama before an audience, and also the buildings designed for it. The Seleucid Empire spread Greek urban forms, including the theatre, into regions of the Near East and Iran that had no previous tradition of such civic institutions. Accounts of the Tokugawa Shogunate count the kabuki theatre tradition among the cultural achievements that flourished under Tokugawa peace.
