Iran

Also known as Iranian

Iran is a country and historical region of south-western Asia, centred on the Iranian plateau. It was the heartland of a long line of empires, including the Median, Achaemenid, Parthian and Sasanian empires, and later the Safavid, Afsharid and Zand states. It was also ruled by external dynasties such as the Seljuks and the Mongol Ilkhanate.
