Vijaya Ranga Chokkanatha
Vijaya Ranga Chokkanatha was ruler of the Madurai Nayak kingdom from 1706 until his death in the early 1730s, succeeding the regency of his grandmother Rani Mangammal. His long reign was largely peaceful, but he left government to his ministers and was known mainly for his piety and gifts to temples. He died without a son, and the succession dispute under his widow Meenakshi brought the kingdom to its end.
