Wa Na
Wa Na is the title of the paramount chief of Wa, a Wala kingdom in the Upper West Region of Ghana. The office rotates among several royal gates, or branches of the ruling family, and the chief rules alongside Muslim office-holders and earth-priests who keep the rites of the land. Wa came under British rule in the 1890s, and the Wa Na remains a traditional ruler today.
