Washington Naval Treaty
The Washington Naval Treaty was an arms-limitation agreement signed in February 1922 by the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, France and Italy at the Washington Naval Conference. It fixed ratios for the tonnage of capital ships, giving Britain and the United States parity, halted battleship building for ten years, and lapsed after Japan withdrew in the 1930s.
