Al-Iklil
Al-Iklil, "the Crown", is a ten-volume work on the history, genealogies, antiquities and castles of south Arabia by the Yemeni scholar al-Hasan al-Hamdani, who died around 945. Only four volumes survive. Drawing on inscriptions, local tradition and his own travels, it preserves much of what medieval Yemenis remembered of the Sabaean and Himyarite past.
