Alexei Brusilov

Alexei Brusilov was a Russian general in the First World War. His offensive of 1916 against Austro-Hungarian forces in Galicia and Volhynia inflicted very heavy losses. The Brusilov Offensive severely weakened the military of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which became increasingly dependent on German support.
