Amapala

Amapala is a port town on El Tigre island in the Gulf of Fonseca, Honduras. For a long time Honduras's main Pacific port, it was the meeting place of the Diet of the Greater Republic of Central America in the 1890s, when Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador briefly joined in a union, and it gave its name to the pact that created it.
