Baidicheng
Baidicheng, the "White Emperor City", is a historic fortress and temple site on a hill above the Yangtze at the entrance to the Qutang Gorge, the first of the Three Gorges, near Fengjie in Chongqing, China. Tradition links its name to Gongsun Shu, who styled himself the White Emperor in the 1st century CE. Liu Bei, founder of Shu Han, died there in 223, and Tang poets such as Li Bai and Du Fu celebrated it.
