Baia

Baia is a village in Suceava County, Romania, and one of the oldest towns of Moldavia, with an early Saxon community and a Catholic church. In December 1467 Stephen the Great defeated the invading Hungarian king Matthias Corvinus there, ending Hungarian attempts to subdue Moldavia.
