Bali Aga

Also known as Bali Mula

The Bali Aga, or Bali Mula, are Balinese communities that preserve customs older than the Hindu-Javanese court culture that spread on Bali after the Majapahit conquest of the 14th century. They live mainly in mountain villages such as Trunyan on Lake Batur and Tenganan in eastern Bali, with distinctive village councils, burial practices and rituals.
