Battle of Julu
The Battle of Julu was fought in 207 BCE near Julu, in present-day Hebei, between rebel forces led by Xiang Yu and the Qin armies besieging the city. Xiang Yu crossed the river, had his boats sunk and cooking pots broken so his men could not retreat, and defeated the Qin generals in a series of engagements. The victory destroyed Qin's main field army and made Xiang Yu the leading rebel commander.
