Beglarbegi
Beglarbegi, meaning "bey of beys", was the title of a provincial military governor in the Safavid Empire. Safavid provincial government was divided between these military governors and fiscal administrators called vazirs. Strategic provinces such as Azerbaijan, Khorasan and Fars were initially held by Qizilbash chiefs and later increasingly by ghulam officers loyal directly to the shah.
