Begho
Begho was a trading town in what is now the Bono Region of Ghana, near the edge of the forest. From about the 11th century to the early 18th century it linked the gold and kola producing forest with the Mande traders of the Niger, and had separate quarters for Muslim merchants and local people. Its decline followed wars and the rise of Asante.
