Berwyn range
The Berwyn range is a range of moorland mountains in north-east Wales, rising to 832 metres at Cadair Berwyn. In 1165 Henry II of England led a great army into Wales against a coalition of Welsh rulers under Owain Gwynedd, but storms and rain on the Berwyn forced him to retreat without a battle, and he took revenge by mutilating Welsh hostages.
