Birgu
Birgu is an old fortified town on the Grand Harbour of Malta, guarded by Fort St Angelo. It was the first seat of the Knights Hospitaller after their arrival in 1530 and withstood the Ottoman Great Siege of 1565, after which it was renamed Città Vittoriosa. The knights moved their capital to the new city of Valletta in 1571.
