Buyaga

Buyaga is a county in western Uganda, part of the historic heartland of Bunyoro. After Britain's conquest of Bunyoro it was transferred to Buganda under the agreement of 1900, becoming one of the "lost counties" claimed by the Banyoro. A referendum held in 1964 returned it, with Bugangaizi, to Bunyoro, a decision that weakened the alliance between Buganda and the Obote government.
