Seychelles
The Seychelles is an archipelago in the western Indian Ocean, which was a British colony from the early nineteenth century. The British used it as a place of exile for deposed rulers. Accounts of the Ashanti Empire note that Asantehene Prempeh I was exiled to the Seychelles after the British occupation of Kumasi.
