Cañar Province

Cañar is a province in the southern highlands of Ecuador, north of Azuay, with its capital at Azogues. It takes its name from the Cañari people, who lived there before the Inca conquest, and many of its inhabitants still identify as Cañari and speak Kichwa. It contains Ingapirca, the largest Inca ruins in Ecuador.
