Carrack
A carrack was a large, three- or four-masted ocean-going sailing ship developed in the Mediterranean and Iberia in the fifteenth century. Its size allowed it to carry large cargoes and defend itself on long voyages. Carracks were the mainstay of the Portuguese Empire's long-distance trade to India and East Asia.
