4th–6th century · 4th century · Also known as Khosroid dynasty

The Chosroid dynasty was the royal house of Iberia (Kartli) in eastern Georgia from the early fourth century, when Mirian III took the throne, until the Persians abolished the monarchy around 580. Of Iranian origin, it presided over Iberia's conversion to Christianity and included Vakhtang I Gorgasali, the traditional founder of Tbilisi. Branches of the family later ruled as presiding princes.
