Christianity

Also known as Christian

Christianity is a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, which arose in the first century CE. It became the state religion of the Roman and Byzantine empires and of the Aksumite and Ethiopian empires, and was spread by the Carolingian, Spanish and Portuguese empires. It was also a significant minority faith under the Sasanian, Umayyad and Ottoman empires, and adopted by the Kongo Empire's rulers.
