Chucuito

Chucuito is a town on the western shore of Lake Titicaca in the Puno region of Peru. Before the Inca conquest it was the capital of the Aymara Lupaca kingdom, and under Spanish rule it was the centre of a large royal province. A detailed Spanish inspection of 1567 by Garci Diez de San Miguel is a key source on Lupaca society.
