Colón, Panama
Colón is a port city at the Caribbean entrance of the Panama Canal and Panama's second city. Founded in 1850 as the Atlantic terminus of the Panama Railroad and first called Aspinwall by the Americans, it grew with the railway and canal and was rebuilt after a great fire in 1885. It is home to the Colón Free Zone, created in 1948, one of the largest free-trade zones in the world.
