Corinto
Corinto is a port city on the Pacific coast of north-western Nicaragua, on Aserradores Island in the department of Chinandega. Developed in the nineteenth century as the country's main Pacific port, it was linked by railway to León and Managua from the 1880s. In 1983 its fuel depots were attacked by CIA-backed forces, and its harbour was among those mined in 1984.
