Corinthian War

395–387 BCE · 4th century BCE

The Corinthian War was fought from 395 to 387 BCE between Sparta and an alliance of Thebes, Athens, Corinth and Argos, supported at first by Persia. Sparta won on land at Nemea and Coronea but lost its fleet at Cnidus (394 BCE); the war ended with the King's Peace of 387 BCE, dictated by the Persian king, which returned the Greek cities of Asia Minor to Persia.
