Coto War
The Coto War was a brief border conflict between Panama and Costa Rica in February and March 1921 over the Coto region on the Pacific side of their disputed frontier. Panamanian forces at first drove back a Costa Rican occupation, but the United States intervened and pressed Panama to accept a boundary award favourable to Costa Rica, and Panama withdrew. The border was finally settled by treaty in 1941.
