Devon
Devon is a county of south-west England, lying between Cornwall and Somerset with coasts on both the English Channel and the Bristol Channel. Its name comes from the Dumnonii, the Iron Age people of the peninsula, through the post-Roman kingdom of Dumnonia. The area was absorbed into Wessex in the 7th and 8th centuries, and its county town is Exeter.
