Dongmyeong of Buyeo
Dongmyeong is the legendary founder of Buyeo, an ancient kingdom of Manchuria. In the version recorded by Chinese writers from the 1st century CE, he was born to a servant woman of a northern kingdom after she was touched by a beam of sunlight, and escaped the king's pursuit across a river on a bridge of fish and turtles. The story was later adapted for Jumong, founder of Goguryeo.
