Murong Xianbei
The Murong Xianbei were a branch of the Xianbei nomads who settled in western Liaoning in the 3rd century and adopted farming and Chinese-style government. Their princes founded the Former Yan, Later Yan, Western Yan and Southern Yan states in northern China. An offshoot under Tuyuhun migrated west to Qinghai, while the Murong long competed with the neighbouring Yuwen and Duan Xianbei.
