Liaoning

Liaoning is a province of north-eastern China, on the Bohai Sea and the border with North Korea, with its capital at Shenyang. Its lands, including the Liao River plain and the Liaodong peninsula, were home to the Donghu, Xianbei and other peoples and were contested by Chinese, Korean and steppe states. Shenyang, as Mukden, was the early capital of the Manchu Qing dynasty before 1644.
