Songhua River
The Songhua is a river of north-eastern China, the largest tributary of the Amur. It rises at Heaven Lake on Changbai Mountain and flows north-west and then north-east past Jilin and Harbin to join the Amur on the Russian border. Its fertile plain was home to Buyeo and to later peoples of Manchuria.
