Ehime Prefecture

Ehime Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan in the north-west of the island of Shikoku, with its capital at Matsuyama. It covers the old province of Iyo and was formed in 1873 from prefectures created after the abolition of the domains in 1871, including those of Matsuyama, Uwajima and other former domains. It is known for citrus farming and for the Dogo hot springs.
