Ehengbuda

d. 1606 · 16th century

Ehengbuda was an Oba of Benin who died in 1606. He is regarded as the last of the great warrior kings who, from Ewuare onward, combined military expansion with artistic patronage. His death is seen as the beginning of the long decline of the Benin Empire.
