Egyptians
The Egyptians are the people of the Nile valley in north-eastern Africa. In antiquity they formed the population of the Egyptian Empire New Kingdom, served as soldiers and subjects under the Achaemenid Empire, and under the Ptolemaic Empire were recruited into the army, notably at the Battle of Raphia, which strengthened native Egyptian assertiveness.
