Expo 58
Expo 58 was the world's fair held in Brussels from April to October 1958, the first major international exposition after the Second World War. Its theme was a more humane world built on scientific progress, and it drew more than 40 million visits. Its centrepiece, the Atomium, still stands on the Heysel plateau in the north of the city.
