Expressionism

Also known as expressionist

Expressionism was a modernist movement in art, literature and music in the early twentieth century that sought to express emotional experience rather than physical reality. In Vienna it flourished in the work of painters such as Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka, forming part of the cultural brilliance of the late Austro-Hungarian Empire.
