Expulsion of the Déisi
The Expulsion of the Déisi is an Old Irish tale, surviving in versions from the 8th century onwards, about the origins of the Déisi. It tells how they were driven from their lands in Brega near Tara after a quarrel with the high king Cormac mac Airt and wandered south, some settling in Munster and others crossing to Dyfed in Wales. Its genealogies link the kings of Dyfed to the Déisi.
