Fuvahmulah

Fuvahmulah is a single-island atoll in the far south of the Maldives, between Huvadhu and Addu atolls, unusual for its freshwater lakes and the absence of a lagoon. In 1959 it joined Addu and Huvadhu in the breakaway United Suvadive Republic, which the Maldivian government suppressed by 1963. It is now one of the country's cities.
