Gadag

Gadag is a city in northern Karnataka, India, which with neighbouring Betageri forms a twin city. It was an important religious and artistic centre under the Western Chalukyas in the 11th and 12th centuries, when the richly carved Trikuteshwara and Saraswati temples were built. It is also known for the Veeranarayana temple, associated with the Kannada poet Kumaravyasa.
