Grand Bahama
Grand Bahama is the northernmost of the larger islands of the Bahamas, lying about 90 kilometres off the coast of Florida. Its main town, Freeport, was developed from 1955 as a free-trade zone and became the country's second city and a centre of tourism, shipping and industry. In 2019 Hurricane Dorian caused severe destruction on the island and neighbouring Abaco.
