Great Lakes Twa
The Twa are a Pygmy people of the African Great Lakes, living in Rwanda, Burundi, eastern Congo and south-western Uganda, where they form a small minority. Traditionally forest hunters and potters, some also held ritual and court roles in the kingdoms of Rwanda and Burundi. Loss of forest land in the 20th century left many of them landless and poor.
